Well...already the club is doing what I'd hoped it would do...that’s right...I got back out on the lake and got a line wet this morning. Went and rescued the boat from storage on Saturday morning...gave it good bath....changed the oil in the lower unit...charged up the batteries (well for the most part)...loaded up the kids and headed out on the water. The boat ran great. Took a trip up to Windjammer and let the kids swim for a while. Got up early this morning (6:00am) ran up to Wal-Mart and renewed my license and was on the water by 7:00am...quick trip across the main channel and to a little cove off of Big Allison...water was very calm...83 degree water temp...started out with a top water plug...got hit twice...out of practice...no fish hooked....switched to a crank bait...two cast off a dock...nothing...rounded the back of the cove...cast to the shallow..about 4 feet...couple of turns on the reel...and BANG!! FISH ON!! Now I remember why I love to fish...I let it run to get a few extra moments out of the fight. she broke water twice ...I love to see 'em dance.....I bring it to up to the boat...its a small one...about a 1lb & 1/2....I go for the "Bassmaster" pull from water to boat...and it was a bit to strong...I pulled the bait right out of its mouth....oh well...it was a good fight and was just what the doctor ordered to give me the fever again....I can't wait till the next time I get out....I can promise you it will not be another year.....
